Fall Hiking in Northeast Florida

Who says Florida doesn’t have fall color?  Holly trees are full of crimson berries, glossy Magnolias sport velvety-red seed pods and hundreds of wildflowers are in bloom.

Hiking is one of the best ways to see real Florida and the northeast region has hundreds of miles of trails.  Jim Kern, founder of the statewide Florida Trail, talks in this short video about what you’ll find in this neck of the woods and why hiking is one of the best ways to exercise. Longtime science educator Jennie Busey shares why it’s important to get children out in the woods to experience nature.

Our video shows many of the species that may be in bloom this time of year.  So as the temperatures cool, get outdoors and keep an eye out for some of these fall colors.
